Five graded events scheduled for Aqueduct’s winter meet

The New York Racing Association (NYRA) unveiled the stakes schedule for the 2017 winter meet at Aqueduct, which features 25 stakes worth more than $3 million in purses.
The 48-day winter meet will host five graded contests:
$150,000 Jerome Stakes (G3), 3yos, 1 mile 70 yards, Monday, January 2
$125,000 Toboggan Stakes (G3), 4&up, 6 furlongs, Monday, January 16
$250,000 Withers Stakes (G3), 3yos, 1 1/16 miles, Saturday, February 4
$300,000 Gotham Stakes (G3), 3yos, 1 1/16 miles, Saturday, March 4
$200,000 Tom Fool Handicap (G3), 4&up, 6 furlongs, Saturday, March 11
The winter stakes schedule concludes on Saturday, March 25, with the 25th running of the $100,000 Cicada for three-year-old fillies at six furlongs.
