Fourteen fillies invited to American Oaks

Fourteen three-year-old fillies from around the world have been extended

invitations to the $750,000 American Oaks (G1) on July 3 at Hollywood Park.

Horses from Japan, Ireland, England and Italy will join United Stakes

representatives from California, New York and Kentucky in the 1 1/4-mile turf

event.

Japanese Oaks winner CESARIO (Special Week), Nell Gwyn S. (Eng-G3) winner

KAREN'S CAPER (War Chant), runner-up in the Coronation S. (Eng-G1) last out,

Premio Regina Elena (Ity-G2) (Italian One Thousand Guineas) winner SILVER CUP (Almutawakel

[GB]), Debutante S. (Ire-G2) winner SILK AND SCARLET (Sadler's Wells) and LUAS

LINE (Danehill), the third-place finisher in the Irish One Thousand Guineas

(Ire-G1), are among the foreign-based invitees.

Undefeated MELHOR AINDA (Pulpit), who strolled to a 2 3/4-length victory in

the Sands Point S. (G3) on June 5 at Belmont Park, and Hollywood Starlet S. (G1)

heroine SPLENDID BLENDED (Unbridled's Song), a close fourth in the Acorn S. (G1)

at Belmont Park in her seasonal debut, top the list of American-based invitees.

THREE DEGREES (Ire) (Singspiel [Ire]), THATSWHATIMEAN (Belong to Me) and ISLA

COZZENE (Cozzene), the top three finishers in the Honeymoon Breeders' Cup H.

(G2) on June 5, received an invitation along with recent Churchill Downs

allowance winner GRAT (A.P. Indy).

MEMORETTE (Memo [Chi]) and LAURAFINA (Cozzene), who finished second in the

Hollywood Breeders' Cup Oaks (G2) and Sands Point, respectively, were also

invited.

Cesario was scheduled to arrive from Japan on Monday and clear quarantine on

Wednesday.
