Frankel to train Alinghi
ALINGHI (Encosta de Lago), purchased last week by John Messara's Arrowfield
Stud for a reported A$3 million, will be shipped to the United States Sunday to
join the barn of trainer Bobby Frankel, according to AAP Racing and Sports.
"There are no set plans regarding her racing program, but there are numerous
Group 1 races for fillies and mares that will suit Alinghi in America," Messara
said. "We will wait and see how she settles in after the trip and the new
environment in New York. Ideally she will be set for turf races, although that
is not ruling out the option of running her on the dirt at some stage."
A nine-time stakes heroine in Australia, the four-year-old filly won this season's Robert Sangster S. (Aus-G1) and
Newmarket H. (Aus-G1).
