Galileo colt brings high price at second Goffs session

Last updated: 2/12/08 4:44 PM

A colt by Galileo topped the second day of Goffs February Sale on Tuesday when selling to BBA Ireland for 205,000 -- eclipsing the

top prince for a weanling at last year's sale by 60,000.

Out of the winning River Fairy (Irish River [Fr]), the Rangefield Bloodstock-consigned

youngster went through the ring as Lot No. 308. Multiple Grade 2 winner Fairy

Garden (Lyphard) is the colt's second dam.

Among the many quality lots with no shortage of buyer interest was Lot 368, a

Refuse to Bend (Ire) colt from Jockey Hall Stud who sold for

110,000. The yearling is out of the Indian

Ridge mare Swingsky, a full sister to French stakes-winner Indianski, and was

purchased by Wessex Bloodstock.

The sale continues Wednesday with weanlings, yearlings and breeding stock. Full results can be seen at goffs.com.
