Last updated: 2/20/07 7:12 PM

Fillies dominated the action during the second day at Magic Millions Adelaide

Yearling Sale Tuesday, headed by Lot No. 293, a bay by Royal Academy out of Lady

Biton who realized a A$160,000 final bid. Consigned by Kambula Stud, the October

6 foal was purchased by Queensland's Heinrich Bloodstock.

The second highest price of the session was secured by a filly by Secret

Savings. Richard Jolly of Victoria paid A$140,000 for the chestnut, who is out

of the eight-year-old Royal Academy mare Fawayez. Lot 221, who is her dam's

second foal, was part of the Emirates Park Party draft.

The sale's second session concluded with gross receipts of A$9,173,500, down

from A$12,851,500 in 2006. Last year, 352 lots sold during the first two days of

the sale, as compared to 229 this term. The aim toward greater selectivity paid

off with average rising from A$36,510 to A$40,059 this year.

The three-day sale concludes Thursday.
