Goffs boosts sales races for 2007
Goffs has boosted its new sales race initiative by announcing that graduates
of the 2006 Million auction will contest one of two 1-million contests at The
Curragh the following September. This year will see the inaugural running at
that track of the Goffs Million for juvenile colts and fillies alongside the
Fillies' Five Hundred, worth the equivalent in euros.
However, Chairman Eimear Mulhern announced at a reception in Dublin that from
2007 there will be two races, with one restricted to colts and the other to
fillies alone, boasting a combined purse of 3.2-million.
"Last year was an unprecedented year for Goffs, and we thank and salute our
vendors for the support offered to the inaugural Million sale," Mulhern
commented. "We look forward to building on this support as we develop the
concept in the years ahead."
