Gross, average up at Goffs February
Strong trade throughout the four days of Goffs' February Mixed Sale yielded
record returns at the close of business on Friday.
ARD NA SIGHE (Kenmare), offered as hip 1100 by Gary Swift Sales, was the
highlight of the final day when she was hammered down for 180,000. The
12-year-old is a half-sister to English and French champion filly Marwell
(Habitat) and is in foal to Exceed and Excel. She was secured by the Hong Kong
Racing Club for the second-highest price of the sale.
Five lots broke through the six-figure barrier, compared to two last year,
and boosted the aggregate to 7,194,250, up 59 percent on last year's three-day
comparative. The average advanced nearly 15 percent to 11,833.
