Haisfield purchases interest in Lawyer Ron
The Estate of James T. Hines Jr. announced Thursday that Our Legal Team LLC has purchased a partial interest in Kentucky Derby (G1) contender LAWYER RON (Langfuhr). Our Legal Team is solely owned by Audrey Haisfield, who also owns Stonewall Farm near Versailles, Kentucky. Upon retirement, Lawyer Ron will stand at stud at Stonewall. Terms of the sale, including the percentage of ownership and cost, were not disclosed. Lawyer Ron will run in the Kentucky Derby in the name of Hines and wear Hines' blue and white silks. Robert Holthus will remain the colt's trainer for the Kentucky Derby. "On behalf of the Hines estate, it was a difficult decision to make," said Ron Bamberger, executor of the estate and the horse's namesake. "It was a joint decision by interested family members and me as executor that this was the course to take.

Lawyer Ron swept the major three-year-old races at Oaklawn Park, winning the
Arkansas Derby (G2) by 2 3/4 lengths in his last start. He is the 4-1 co-second
choice on the morning line for the Kentucky Derby and will break from post 17
under jockey John McKee.
The chestnut colt, out
of the Lord Avie mare Donation, has earned $1,220,008 from a record of 14-7-1-3.
