Hollywood Prevue
Unraced since a debut maiden special weight victory at Del Mar in early
September, Anthony Speelman's YOUR TENT OR MINE (Forest Camp) was dismissed as
the 6-1 longest shot in Saturday's $100,000
Hollywood Prevue S. (G3), but the
Neil Drysdale-trained colt proved more than up to challenge. Rating patiently
off a fast early pace in :22 and :44 2/5, the bay juvenile found his best stride
approaching midstretch, splitting horses and powering away to a 2 1/2-length
score.
Now two for two in his brief career, Your Tent or Mine returned $14.20, $5.80
and $4.20 to his supporters after completing the fast seven-furlong event in a
snappy 1:21. He didn't break alertly as Da Stoops (Distorted Humor) showed the
way on the front end, and the pacesetter managed to hold for second, paying
$5.40 and $3.60 as the 5-1 fourth choice in the five-horse field and capping the
$32.70 exacta ($1). It was another 1 1/2 lengths back to The Pharoah (Forest
Camp), who gave back $4.20 and rounded out the $178.20 (3-5-6) trifecta ($1).
Even-money favorite Old Thunder (Fusaichi Pegasus) and Bengal Lore (Tale of the
Cat) completed the order of finish. The Five J's (Lost Soldier) was withdrawn.
Bred in Kentucky by R.C. Durr & George Budig, Your Tent or Mine was purchased
for $250,000 at Fasig-Tipton's February two-year-old sale and has now earned
$91,800. He's the second foal from the multiple stakes-placed mare She's Got the
Look (Prospector's Music), who is also the dam of a yearling filly by Out of
Place and a weanling filly by Chief Seattle.
"I like the fact that Patrick (Valenzuela) took him through (horses), he's
got a great attitude," Drysdale said of the winning colt. "He's very relaxed, he
acts very seasoned. We tried to run him at Santa Anita (in October), but all
(our) two-year-olds were sick."
Valenzuela added, "I think this colt has a great future."
Your Tent or Mine will be pointed toward the $250,000 Hollywood Futurity (G1)
on December 17.
