Hunter injured in spill
Jockey Teri Hunter will be out of action for a few months after sustaining a
broken collarbone, three broken ribs and a small puncture in one of her lungs in
a spill on Thursday at Calder.
"It's a small puncture and they (doctors) think it will be OK and she should
be coming home tomorrow (Saturday)," said trainer Allan Hunter, who is Teri's husband.
Hunter, 38, was aboard Remmitance Man (Precocity) in the 1ST race at Calder
on Thursday when the three-year-old colt fell passing the eighth pole. She spent
the night at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida.
