Keeneland's 20th annual April Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale will be held

Monday, beginning at 4 p.m. (EDT). While 161 horses were originally cataloged,

47 had been withdrawn as of Sunday afternoon.

At Thursday's Preview Show, seven juveniles tied for the bullet by zipping

one furlong in :9 4/5 on the Polytrack.

Five were colts: Hip No. 9, by Lemon Drop Kid, consigned by Niall Brennan

Stables, agent; Hip 11, PACIFIC BLUE (Tiznow), consigned by Wavertree Stables

Inc., agent; Hip 46, by Giant's Causeway, consigned by de Meric Sales, agent;

Hip 108, by Elusive Quality, consigned by Wavertree Stables Inc., agent; and Hip

117, by Mr. Greeley, consigned by de Meric Sales, agent.

Two of the bullet workers were fillies: Hip 101, by Teuflesberg, consigned by

McKathan Bros., agent; and Hip 106, by Mr. Greeley, consigned by Wavertree

Stables Inc., agent.

Hip 144, a colt by Speightstown consigned by Kirkwood Stables, agent, recorded

the day's fastest time for a quarter-mile on the Polytrack, getting the distance

in :20 2/5.

Other fashionable sires represented by April Sale juveniles include

Bernardini, Candy Ride, Curlin, Distorted Humor, Dixie Union, Dynaformer, Empire

Maker, Hard Spun, Henrythenavigator, Indian Charlie, Malibu Moon, Medaglia

d'Oro, Pulpit, Raven's Pass, Scat Daddy, Smart Strike, Street Sense, Tapit and

Unbridled's Song.

The April Sale has produced five classic winners in its brief history, led by

2009 graduate Lookin at Lucky, winner of five Grade 1 stakes, including the 2010

Preakness, and one of only five colts in racing history to be named champion at

both two and three.

Other classic-winning April Sale alumni are Kentucky Derby and Preakness

winner Big Brown; Kentucky Derby and Belmont winner Thunder Gulch; and Grade 1

Kentucky Oaks winners Keeper Hill and Gal in a Ruckus.

"The April Sale boasts a historically strong graduate record, and that speaks

to the top-quality individuals offered," Keeneland Vice President of Sales Walt

Robertson said. "We are very proud of our classic horses. They are among the

more than 100 graded stakes-winning alumni, highlighted recently by such

standouts as Wilburn, Haynesfield and Jersey Town, as well as three-year-old

West Coast stakes winner Midnight Transfer."
