A useful field of 10 distaffers will vie in the 1 1/8-mile, $100,000 Kentucky

Cup Distaff S. (G3) at Turfway Park on Saturday, and we're going to give

INDESCRIBABLE (Pleasant Tap) one more chance for trainer Bill Mott. A sterling

winner of the Doubledogdare S. (G3) over the Keeneland Polytrack in April, the

talented mare has been a shell of herself since, finishing last or next to last

in three subsequent outings. Those starts were against much better and on the

lawn, so the class drop, coupled with the return to Polytrack, could do the

trick. The five-year-old will pick up the services of Garrett Gomez.

Defending champ BEAR NOW (Tiznow) is winless in five starts since arriving in

the barn of Albert Stall Jr., but the dark bay is eligible to rebound in this

one. The Grade 2 heroine was a fine third in the Madison S. (G1) in her last

Polytrack assignment, finishing behind a pair of the best synthetic fillies in

training, and she's been working quite well in advance of this test. Robby

Albarado will guide the five-year-old, who should be on or just off the leaders

throughout.

ADHSILVER (Adhocracy) is an intriguing longshot against this bunch for

Merrill Scherer and should be used in the gimmicks at a price. The synthetic

specialist is not as classy as some of these but has compiled a superb 8-4-1-3

mark on all-weather ovals. We're concerned about the nine-furlong trip for the

lass, but she'll still be included on our vertical plays beneath Julien

Leparoux.

Recent Gardenia H. (G3) vixen WHIRLIE BERTIE (Stormin Fever) is the wildcard

in here for conditioner Steve Margolis, as the improving filly could be the

speed of the race and it's not known whether she will move up or digress in her

synthetic debut. The dark bay homebred has never been better and almost has to

be included in case she loves the Polytrack.

UNFORGOTTEN (Northern Afleet) was second in this event last season and drew

the rail in here for conditioner Dallas Stewart. The late-running mare has won

just once in 18 starts since the start of 2008, so while we can't back her for

the win, we could envision her rallying for a minor award if the race sets up in

her favor. Stakes victress DREAMING OF LIZ (El Prado [Ire]) has won six of her

12 career starts over an all-weather surface and comes into this off a useful

allowance tally at Presque Isle Downs. The four-year-old miss has good early

speed, but she's facing other quality speed in here which is likely to diminish

her chances at the victory.

FRENCH KISS (Hussonet) is a one-run closer who will be at the mercy of the

pace, and even if the early tempo is swift, she would still need to show us

something better than we have seen as of late to factor in this affair. MS.

MARGARET H. (Point Given) is still eligible for a second-level allowance race

and seemingly fits better at that level. IRISH RIDGE (Cactus Ridge) has one

career win and picked a tough spot for her stakes debut. MADLY (Stormin Fever)

looks overmatched in here. The sophomore has a lifetime best 75 BRIS Speed

figure, which is considerably lesser than her rivals.
