If his 20-length maiden win over the track last fall didn't convince folks that Further Ado likes Keeneland, there can be no doubting it after the son of Gun Runner demolished his rivals in the $1,237,813 Blue Grass (G1) on Saturday.

Although Further Ado's assignment was made less difficult with the scratches of Rebel (G2) winner Class President and Ocelli, who instead ran in Saturday's Wood Memorial (G2) and finished third, their presence likely wouldn't have made a difference. The Spendthrift-owned colt is in a different league in Lexington.

Wide while stalking less than a couple lengths off the pace, Further Ado had plenty of reserve when taking the lead at the quarter pole. It was a procession from there to the finish under Irad Ortiz Jr., who guided the colt to the win in a time of 1:51.66 for 1 1/8 miles over a fast track.

The odds-on choice in a field of seven, Further Ado paid $3.70. He earned 100 Kentucky Derby qualifying points, boosting his total to 125.

The Blue Grass was one of three graded stakes won by trainer Brad Cox at Keeneland on Saturday. It was Cox's second Blue Grass following Essential Quality's win in 2021.

Ottinho ran himself into the Kentucky Derby (G1) picture earning 50 points for finishing second, 1 3/4 lengths ahead of Talkin. Creole Chrome finished fourth and was followed by Great White, Reagan's Honor, and Moonstrocity.

While Further Ado adores Keeneland, he was only workmanlike in taking the Kentucky Jockey Club (G2) at Churchill Downs in November when beating a suspect field by only 1 3/4 lengths. He was subsequently second to The Puma in the Tampa Bay Derby (G3), the form of which was also validated last week when The Puma lost the Florida Derby (G1) to the Cox-trained Commandment in a photo.

Nonetheless, after such a stellar performance, Further Ado figures to be among the top three or four betting choices four weeks from now in the Kentucky Derby.

Further Ado was bred in Kentucky by John Oxley and last sold for $550,000 as an OBS juvenile. He was reared by the Sky Mesa mare Sky Dreamer, who is also the dam of Group 2 winner Kimbear.

Eclatant caught Grand Job at the wire to record her first top-level success in the $629,357 Madison (G1) for fillies and mares.

The Stonestreet homebred, exiting a fast allowance win at Gulfstream, won by a nose under Irad Ortiz Jr. The Brad Cox trainee covered seven furlongs in 1:21.84 and she paid $9.58.

Grand Job finished six lengths ahead of pacesetting R Disaster, while lukewarm 3-1 choice Clicquot was virtually eased late and trailed the field of eight.

A four-year-old by Into Mischief, Eclatant has now won five of eight starts. Her lone prior stakes win came in the 2025 Forward Gal (G3) at Gulfstream.

My Boy Prince, a Canadian champion at two three seasons ago, is now one of continent's more successful grass sprinters after beating 11 rivals in the $340,925 Shakertown (G2).

Under Jose Ortiz, My Boy Prince turned a stalk-and-pounce journey into a 1 1/4-length triumph. Yellow Card won a four-horse battle for second that included 3-1 favorite Litigation.

Owned by Gary Barber and trained by Mark Casse, My Boy Prince sped 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:02.11 on firm ground. He paid $12.12.

The Shakertown was the eighth career stakes win but first in graded company for the son of Cairo Prince. Classic-placed in Canada, he previously placed three times in Grade 1 company.

Storm's Wake, twice third in four prior stakes appearance, rallied from the rear of the field to upset the $490,625 Appalachian (G3) for three-year-old fillies on the turf.

An improved third in the Herecomesthebride (G3) at Gulfstream in her most recent start, Storm's Wake reversed that form here under Joel Rosario. She defeated Imaginationthelady by a neck, with Herecomesthebride winner Lion Lake third. Sister Troienne, the 1.44-1 favorite and stablemate of the winner in the barn of Brian Lynch, faded to fifth.

Guided by Joel Rosario, Storm's Wake covered one mile in 1:35.51 and paid $45.36. The daughter of Oscar Performance races for owner-breeder William Werner.
