Kentucky Derby Future Wager Pool 6 closed with runaway Arkansas Derby (G1) winner Renegade the clear 4-1 favorite among 40 betting interests.
The final future wager pool in advance of the 2026 Kentucky Derby (G1) opened on Thursday and closed on Saturday at 6 p.m. ET, shortly before the running of the Blue Grass (G1), Wood Memorial (G2), and Santa Anita Derby (G1), the final three Road to the Kentucky Derby qualifiers worth 100-50-25-15-10 points to the top five finishers.
Renegade’s decisive triumph in the Arkansas Derby impressed bettors more than the hard-fought nose triumph of Commandment in the Florida Derby (G1). Commandment settled as the 7-1 second choice, the only other horse offering single-digit odds.
Other popular choices included The Puma (12-1) and Chief Wallabee (13-1), the second- and third-place finishers from the Florida Derby, and Emerging Market (15-1), winner of the Louisiana Derby (G2).
Had bettors been able to factor the outcomes of the Blue Grass, Wood Memorial, and Santa Anita Derby, a few horses might have started at significantly lower odds. Further Ado (17-1) surely would have been shorter following his 11-length win in the Blue Grass, and the same goes for So Happy (93-1) and Albus (173-1), who respectively sprang upset victories in the Santa Anita Derby and Wood Memorial.
Potente, runner-up in the Santa Anita Derby, closed at 16-1. Impressive maiden winner Cherokee Nation settled at 18-1, but then finished sixth after breaking poorly in the Santa Anita Derby, which means he lacks sufficient qualifying points to make the Kentucky Derby field.
Next in line were Incredibolt (22-1), Fulleffort (23-1), Danon Bourbon (23-1), All Other Three-Year-Olds (25-1), Reagan’s Honor (27-1), Silent Tactic (32-1), Golden Tempo (32-1), Iron Honor (34-1), and Intrepido (38-1), all closing at under 40-1.
Rounding out the betting interests were Wonder Dean (42-1), Talk to Me Jimmy (48-1), Pavlovian (52-1), Class President (53-1), Napoleon Solo (53-1), Great White (57-1), Robusta (72-1), Buetane (77-1), Courting (81-1), Six Speed (93-1), Chip Honcho (101-1), Steel (124-1), Talkin (129-1), Bravaro (162-1), Creole Chrome (178-1), Ottinho (208-1), Right to Party (317-1), Ocelli (429-1), Minorinconvenience (541-1), Red Zone Runner (592-1), and Start the Ride (734-1).
Kentucky Derby Future Wager Pool 6 drew $393,707 in wagers, down from $483,121 in 2025.
