Ted Noffey, Into Mischief popular in Kentucky Derby future pools

Thanks to his win in the Oct. 31 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1), Ted Noffey shortened to 7-1 odds in Kentucky Derby Future Wager Pool 2, cementing his status as the individual favorite for the 2026 Kentucky Derby (G1).

The probable 2025 champion two-year-old male was the 10-1 individual favorite in Pool 1, which closed just prior to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. Pool 2 ran from Thursday through Sunday, closing at 6 p.m. ET.

“All Other Foals from the 2023 Foal Crop” was the overall favorite in Pool 2, settling at 2-1. Further Ado (13-1), who won Saturday’s Kentucky Jockey Club (G2) on the Road to the Kentucky Derby, was the only other betting interest to close at under 20-1. His price dropped substantially from the 21-1 he offered in Pool 1.

Half an hour after Pool 2 closed, the lone 2026 Kentucky Derby Sire Future Wager wrapped up with perennial leading sire Into Mischief favored at 9-2.

In 2025, Into Mischief sired a record-equaling third Kentucky Derby winner when Sovereignty won the roses, joining Into Mischief’s previous Derby-winning sons Authentic (2020) and Mandaloun (2021). Among Into Mischief’s top contenders for the 2026 Kentucky Derby is Ted Noffey.

Gun Runner, the sire of Further Ado, closed as the 5-1 second choice over Not This Time (7-1) and “All Other Sires” (9-1). Curlin, who has sired three Kentucky Derby runners-up, settled as the fifth choice at 15-1.
