Ken and Sarah Ramsey's homebred Kitten Kaboodle slipped through on the inside

of pacesetter Zip On rounding the turn of Wednesday's Grade 3, $150,000

Jessamine at Keeneland and powered home a 4 3/4-length winner under jockey Alan

Garcia.

Sent off the 7-2 second choice, the Kitten's Joy sophomore miss ran 1 1/16

miles on the firm turf in 1:44 to pay $9.40 for the win. She also earned an

automatic berth into the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf as the Jessamine

was a "Win and You're In" race.

"I've got four two-year-olds going to the Breeders' Cup," Ken Ramsey noted. "I've

got Bobby's Kitten, who won the Pilgrim Stakes, Grade 3, up at Belmont. I've got

Granny Mc's Kitten (winner of the Grade 3 Miss Grillo at Belmont). Kitten

Kaboodle's going, and I've got one more: (Grade 1 Dixiana Breeders' Futurity

winner) We Miss Artie, who's not a 'Kitten.'"

Kitten Kaboodle settled into a good stalking spot on the inside as Zip On

sped through splits of :23, :46 4/5 and 1:12 2/5. Richies Party Girl was just

outside and behind the leader, with 2-1 favorite Zinzay keeping in close contact

off of Richies Party Girl's flank.

Zip On bobbled wide off the final turn, leaving a perfect opening for Kitten

Kaboodle to get the jump on her rivals. The chestnut filly easily took command

and motored to the wire to take her stakes debut for trainer Chad Brown.

"It was pretty easy," Garcia said after the race. "My filly broke good, and we saved all

the ground we could. Turning for home, when I saw the hole on the inside, I

said, 'Let me ask her,' and she took off."

Zinzay was carried out entering the stretch thanks to Zip On's wide turn but

quickly settled back into stride and got up by a half-length for second over

Courtesan. That juvenile miss was in turn a half-length up in third over Candy

Kitty, with Runway Giant, Zip On, Academic Probation, Shanon Nicole, Pretty

Fancy and Richies Party Girl completing the order under the wire.

"She ran well," remarked Zinzay's rider, Joe Rocco Jr. "I kind of got carried

out turning for home and the winner got through and went on. My filly ran hard

in her second start. She did a good job."

Kitten Kaboodle actually started out in Wayne Catalano's barn at Saratoga,

running second in a pair of maidens at the Spa in July and August. After being

sent to Brown, the juvenile lass was freshened for this spot, which turned out

to be her first career win. The $90,000 winner's share boosted her lifetime

earnings to $124,000.

The Kentucky-bred filly is out of the winning Grand Slam mare Easy Slam, and

her third dam is the stakes-winning Ballare. That one is also the granddam of

two-time Chilean Horse of the Year Ballistic.

Others of note in this female line include Grade 1-placed dual stakes winner

Dance to My Tune and Grade 2-placed stakes victor Afternoon Affair.
