Mandesha on the fence for Prince of Wales's

Last updated: 6/14/07 7:38 PM

Princess Zahra Aga Khan's MANDESHA (Desert Style) has yet to be committed to

Wednesday's Prince of Wales's S. (Eng-G1) at Royal Ascot, for which 11 stood

their ground at Thursday's five-day stage. Last year's Prix d'Astarte (Fr-G1),

Prix Vermeille (Fr-G1) and Prix de l'Opera (Fr-G1) winner satisfied connections

in a key spin on the home gallops Thursday, but the four-year-old's program is

still under discussion.

"There is some discussion whether she will go there or not, which needs to

take place and this will be taken later," the owner-breeder's Racing Manager

Georges Rimaud told PA Sport. "She worked well today and the trainer needs to

talk with the owner to decide which is the best route to go. This is a filly

with a four-year-old career ahead of her. She has only had her seasonal debut

recently and they need to figure out if this is the right way to go or not. The

season is going to be long. We just need to be a bit careful and the decision

needs to be well thought out."

Mandesha captured Saint-Cloud's Prix Corrida (Fr-G2) in her latest outing on

May 30. If she lines up Wednesday, she will meet an all-star cast including

Susan Magnier and Michael Tabor's Irish Derby (Ire-G1), Irish Champion S.

(Ire-G1) and Prix Ganay (Fr-G1) winner DYLAN THOMAS (Ire) (Danehill) and the

Ballydoyle runner's Tattersalls Gold Cup (Ire-G1) conqueror NOTNOWCATO (Inchinor

[GB]), owned by Anthony and David de Rothschild and trained by Sir Michael

Stoute.

O'Brien has also left in GEORGE WASHINGTON (Ire) (Danehill), who is penciled

in for the previous day's Queen Anne S. (Eng-G1), while Andre Fabre has

committed Baron Georg von Ullmann's Prix d'Ispahan (Fr-G1) scorer MANDURO (Monsun)

and Brian Meehan is set to run J. Paul Reddam's Breeders' Cup Turf (G1) hero RED

ROCKS (Ire) (Galileo [Ire]). Adding further spice to the 10-furlong contest is

Anthony Pakenham's 2006 Epsom Derby (Eng-G1) winner SIR PERCY (Mark of Esteem

[Ire]) and the Italian raider PRESSING (Soviet Star). Gary Tanaka's Premio

Presidente della Repubblica (Ity-G1) runner-up was supplemented by his new

trainer Michael Jarvis on Thursday.
