Mohaymen easily remains unbeaten in Fountain of Youth

Mohaymen, the top-ranked Kentucky Derby contender on the East Coast, drew away

to a 2 1/4-length decision over Zulu in Saturday's Fountain of Youth (G2) at

Gulfstream Park, improving his career record to 5-for-5. Ridden by Junior

Alvarado, the Kiaran McLaughlin-trained Tapit colt set the stage for a

highly-anticipated meeting with unbeaten 2-year-old champion Nyquist in the

April 2 Florida Derby (G1).

Cathryn Sophia moved her mark to a perfect four-for-four with a romping

seven-length win in the Davona Dale (G2) at Gulfstream Park. The John Servis

trainee easily drew off under jockey Javier Castellano to boost her Kentucky

Oaks (G1) points total to 60.

Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) heroine Catch a Glimpse returned a

winner at Gulfstream with an effortless victory in the Herecomesthebride S. (G3).

Also on the grass at the Hallandale Beach, Florida, venue,

Canadian champion Heart to Heart prevailed in the Canadian Turf (G3).

Earlier at Gulfstream,

X Y Jet turned in another stellar effort in the Gulfstream Park (G3), setting

himself up for a run at next month's $2 million Dubai Golden Shaheen (G1).

It was the fifth straight win for the gray gelding and his third straight stakes

win.

Up at Aqueduct, Mo d'Amour threw her cap in the Kentucky Oaks (G1) ring with a

two-length victory in the Busher S. for the same connections as 2013

Kentucky Oaks winner Princess of Sylmar.

There were a quartet of contenders for the upcoming San Felipe (G2) that worked

at Santa Anita on Saturday, a group that included Smokey Image, Exaggerator,

Uncle Lino, and Danzing Candy.

Whitmore headed a quintet of workers readying for the March 19 Rebel S. (G2) at

Oaklawn Park on Saturday. The chestnut gelding recorded a bullet half-mile

in :48.20 while working in company.

A number of runners are considered probable for the Gotham S. (G3) at Aqueduct

on March, including Withers S. (G3) winner Sunny Ridge.
