A competitive field of eight has been entered for Saturday's $300,000 Molly

Pitcher Breeders' Cup H. (G2) at Monmouth Park, and CAPESIDE LADY (Cape Town) is

listed as the 5-2 favorite on the morning-line. The Todd Pletcher-trained

four-year-old enters this 8 1/2-furlong test off an easy 5 1/2-length score in

the Monmouth Beach S. going the distance and looks poised to add yet another

victory to her record. The bay miss loves the track, owning three wins from four

starts over the Monmouth dirt, and she posts a similar line for 1 1/16 miles

(4-3-1-0). Capeside Lady earned a nice 102 BRIS Speed rating for her last win,

and has been working well over the track of late to get ready for this one.

She'll be tough to deny with Chris DeCarlo in the saddle.

BENDING STRINGS (American Chance) was a nice third in the Ogden Phipps H.

(G1) in her last one after pressing the pace throughout. She came into that one

off a close fourth in the Humana Distaff H. (G1), where she earned triple digit

Speed and BRIS Late Pace figures for her effort. The Kiaran McLaughlin charge

may prefer a little less ground than what she'll run on Saturday, but could

still take it all under Ramon Dominguez.

LA REASON (Labeeb [GB]) captured the Molly Pitcher last season, posting a

three-length victory, but then moved up to race against top level competition

and started tailing off at the end of the year. It took a few races for her to

regain her form this year, but the David Vance-conditioned bay proved her

readiness for this one by taking an allowance at Churchill Downs by 3 1/4

lengths before just missing and running fourth in the Fleur de Lis H. (G2) last

out. The five-year-old mare has the capability to defend her title in this event

with C. C. Lopez, who was aboard last year, returning to the saddle.

ONE FOR ROSE (Tejano Run) has been named champion older mare in Canada for

the past two years and will be making just her second start outside of Woodbine

in this spot. Her previous non-Canadian run came in last year's Spinster S.

(G1), where she ran fourth, and the Sid Attard charge trainee most recently

captured the Ontario Matron H. for a second straight time. She could challenge

for it all with regular jockey Emile Ramsammy making the trip south for the

ride.

EMERALD EARRINGS (Helmsman) has posted a 6-5-0 mark from her 12 career starts

and could find herself fighting for a place in the top three once again here.

She recorded her worst finish to date last out when fifth in the Vagrancy H.

(G2), but still earned a 106 BRIS E2 Pace figure and should be considered for

the exotics. ENDER'S SISTER (A.P. Indy) was third in the Vagrancy last out and

worked a bullet five furlongs in :59 1/5 on July 3 at Belmont Park. She could

earn a share.

FRIEL'S FOR REAL (Sword Dance [Ire]) has room to improve while returning to the

main track here, but the dark bay mare wasn't doing so well before her switch to

the turf last out. We'll let her beat us. MADONNA LILY (Elusive Quality) just

broke her maiden three back and might not be up to facing these just yet.
