Moynahan to contest Dewhurst

Last updated: 10/15/07 7:16 PM

Trainer Paul Cole will be double-handed in Saturday's Dewhurst S. (Eng-G1)

after supplementing the York maiden scorer MOYNAHAN (Johannesburg) at Monday's

five-day stage. After paying the £15,000

fee, the Whatcombe-based conditioner will commit the winner of the August 22

Convivial Maiden S. to a steep jump in class alongside Stephanie Smith's

Coventry S. (Eng-G2) third and recent Goffs Million winner Luck Money (Indian

Ridge).

"They will have a pipe-opener on Tuesday and, if all is satisfactory, both of

them will take their chance," Cole commented. "It is a bit of a step up in class

for Moynahan, but he quickened up well at York and has been working well at

home. Both he and Luck Money are in good form. Luck Money has come out very well

from his race in Ireland. I am hoping for good ground."

A maximum of 14 will take their place in the line-up for the seven-furlong

contest, including the high-class trio of Solario S. (Eng-G3) winner Raven's

Pass (Elusive Quality), Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (Fr-G1) victor Rio de la Plata

(Rahy) and possibly National S. (Ire-G1) scorer New Approach (Galileo [Ire]).

Aidan O'Brien has left in a team of four headed by the Jean-Luc Lagardere

sixth Greatwallofchina (Kingmambo). The Champagne S. (Eng-G2) winner McCartney

(In the Wings [GB]), Acomb S. (Eng-G3) victor Fast Company (Danehill Dancer) and

Middle Park S. (Eng-G1) winner Dark Angel (Acclamation) are other notables.
