Nahoodh entered for Irish Guineas

Last updated: 5/20/08 6:34 PM

Trainer Mick Channon is looking at Sunday's Irish One Thousand Guineas

(Ire-G1) for Jaber Abdullah's NAHOODH (Clodovil), who yesterday headed a field

of 20 remaining in the Curragh classic. A luckless fifth behind Natagora (Divine

Light) in the One Thousand Guineas (Eng-G1) at Newmarket on May 4, last year's

Lowther S. (Eng-G2) winner may be joined by Liam Mulryan's C.L. Weld Park S.

(Ire-G3) winner EVA'S REQUEST (Soviet Star), while stable companion Nijoom Dubai

(Noverre) -- eighth in the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches (Fr-G1) at Longchamp last

Sunday -- is doubtful.

"I might run one or two," Channon said. "Nahoodh could run, but I don't think

Nijoom Dubai will."

Jim Bolger, who saddled last year's star Finsceal Beo (Mr. Greeley), has a

smart pair still in contention in Musidora S. (Eng-G3) heroine LUSH LASHES

(Galileo [Ire]) and One Thousand Guineas third SAOIRSE ABU (Mr. Greeley), but

Bolger told the Racing Post that the former was unlikely to line up.

"(Saoirse Abu) will probably be my only runner in the race," he told the

Post. "She has come out of Newmarket very well, and I am very happy with

her."

Dermot Weld has a duo engaged in Dr Ronan Lambe's Leopardstown One Thousand

Guineas Trial S. (Ire-G3) and Derrinstown Stud One Thousand Guineas Trial

(Ire-G3) winner CARRIBEAN SUNSET (Danehill Dancer) and Moyglare Stud Farm's Prix

Marcel Boussac (Fr-G1) and Moyglare Stud S. (Ire-G1) third MAD ABOUT YOU (Indian

Ridge).

"Both Mad About You and Carribean Sunset have been left in the race, but we

will wait and see what the ground is like before we make a final decision on

what will run for us," Weld told the Post.

Aidan O'Brien has left in a team of six, headed by Diane Nagle and Susan

Magnier's One Thousand Guineas ninth KITTY MATCHAM (Rock of Gibraltar [Ire]).

In the Tattersalls Gold Cup (Ire-G1) at The Curragh, which will also be run

on Sunday, Susan Magnier and Michael Tabor's Prix Ganay (Fr-G1) winner DUKE OF

MARMALADE (Danehill) and last year's Irish Derby (Ire-G1) hero SOLDIER OF

FORTUNE (Galileo {Ire]) are two of the five Ballydoyle entries among the list of

11, which also includes Michael Ryan's dual Guineas heroine FINSCEAL BEO (Mr.

Greeley) and Paul Reddam's 2006 Breeders' Cup Turf (G1) hero RED ROCKS (Ire)

(Galileo [Ire]).
