Last updated: 1/5/08 5:26 PM

George Bolton, Joan Corrigan and Anthony Beck's NOONMARK (Unbridled's Song)

slipped through an opening along the rail at the top of the stretch and powered

home a two-length winner of the $100,000

Mr. Prospector H. (G3)

over a sloppy

main oval at Gulfstream on Saturday. Breaking alertly from his rail post under

Rene Douglas, Noonmark tracked in fourth while inside behind a trio of dueling

horses, prior to putting in his winning run. The five-year-old reached the wire

in 1:09 3/5 for the six furlongs and paid $12.60, $5.60 and $3.60 as the 5-1

fifth choice.

Mach Ride (Pentelicus) was among the duel early, rated just off the pace in

third to the lane, took a brief lead in early stretch and finished well to

retain the place while 2 3/4 lengths clear. The nearly 5-2 favorite was worth

$3.80 and $3 while completing the $25 exacta ($1). Finallymadeit (Concerto), who was

on the pace throughout, put a head in front at the half-mile mark in :44 4/5

and stayed on well to earn the black-type placing. Show returned $4 and the 8-1

shot finished off the $109.10 ($1) trifecta. Roi Maudit (Elusive Quality) raced

in midpack throughout and wound up on the bottom of the $492.90 superfecta ($1)

at 7-2. Guapeton (Wagon Limit) was next and trailed by Grand Champion (Grand

Slam) and early leader Keyed Entry (Honour and Glory).

Noonmark improved his lifetime mark to 13-4-3-1, $235,051, which includes

placings in the Swale S. (G2) and Woody Stephens S. (G2). He

winner was bred in the Bluegrass State by John D Murphy Sr. and fetched a bid of

$275,000 at the 2004 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July Yearling sale.

The winner is the first foal out of the unraced Storm Cat mare In the Storm and has

an unraced three-year-old half-brother named Cape Town Pistol (Cape Town), an

unnamed two-year-old half-brother by Malibu Moon and a yearling full brother.

His 10-year-old dam is a half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner and successful

sire Formal Gold (Black Tie Affair [Ire]) and stakes winner Maple Lake (Varick).

Bolton said Noonmark could be pointed toward the $2 million Golden Shaheen S.

(UAE-G1) at Nad al Sheba in late March.
