Breeders' Cup Sprint contender Secret Circle (Eddington) worked a
bullet, best-of-47, half-mile over Santa Anita's fast dirt in :47 on Wednesday.
The Grade 2 winner, who captured the 2011 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Sprint, scored
in his only start this year when taking an October 14 optional claimer at Santa
Anita for trainer Bob Baffert.
Multiple stakes winner Taptowne (Tapit), runner-up in the Michael G.
Schaefer Memorial and Ack Ack (G3) in his last two outings, breezed five
furlongs in a bullet 1:00 1/5 on the fast track at Churchill Downs in advance of
the Dirt Mile. It was the fastest of 22 works at the distance.
