At Santa Anita on Friday, two Filly & Mare Sprint contenders posted works on

the fast main track.

Multiple Grade 1 veteran Champagne d'Oro (Medaglia d'Oro), most

recently fourth in the Grade 1 Lady's Secret going two turns, blitzed five

furlongs in :59 4/5.

Grade 2 A Gleam heroine Irish Gypsy (Hennessy) smoked six panels in a

bullet 1:11 1/5, easily best of nine moves at the distance. The Bob Baffert mare

is coming off a third in the Grade 3 Rancho Bernardo.

Trainer John Shirreffs' hopefuls tuned up on the Cushion Track at their

Hollywood Park base.

Mile candidate Mr. Commons (Artie Schiller) drilled five-eighths in

:59 3/5. The Oceanside Stakes winner has finished a strong runner-up to older

rivals in his last pair, the Grade 2 Oak Tree Mile and the Grade 2 Del Mar Mile.

Filly & Mare Turf probable Harmonious (Dynaformer) motored seven

furlongs in 1:25 1/5, by far the fastest of four works at the distance. The

multiple Grade 1 queen has placed in four of five starts this year, including a

third in the Grade 1 Yellow Ribbon last out.

John Sadler's Filly & Mare Turf contender Cozi Rosie (Pleasantly

Perfect), a somewhat troubled second in the Yellow Ribbon, covered six panels in

1:13 2/5. The Mosses' homebred filly has captured the Grade 2 John C. Mabee and

the Grade 2 Buena Vista this season.

At Belmont Park, Grade 1 hero Jersey Town (Speightstown), runner-up in

the Grade 1 Forego and third in the Grade 2 Kelso in his past two, motored

five-eighths in 1:01 3/5 over the fast dirt training track. He could be headed

to the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile.

Grade 3 Senator Ken Maddy victress Broken Dreams (Broken Vow) turned

four furlongs in :49 3/5 on Keeneland's Polytrack in advance of the Turf Sprint.
