Ouija Board headed for Irish Champion
Lord Derby's OUIJA BOARD (GB) (Cape Cross [Ire]) will contest next Saturday's
Irish Champion S. (Ire-G1) at Leopardstown. Trainer Ed Dunlop told the Racing
Post that the alternative option of the following afternoon's Prix Vermeille
(Fr-G1) had been ruled out due to softening ground conditions in France.
Having overseen the multiple Group 1 heroine's exercise on the Newmarket
slopes, the conditioner told the Post, "I was very happy with her work and we
are aiming towards Ireland -- the ground in France looks like being very soft
for the Prix Vermeille."
Dunlop has yet to confirm riding plans for the five-year-old mare, last seen
taking the August 5 Nassau S. (Eng-G1) at Goodwood.
