Pair look for Florida Stallion series sweep

Last updated: 10/8/13 4:39 PM

Gilbert G. Campbell's dominant duo of My Brown Eyed Guy and Scandalous Act

are on par to sweep the Florida Stallion Stakes Series and will most likely be

the post-time favorites for the series' final legs, set for this Saturday at

Calder during the Festival of the Sun.

My Brown Eyed Guy is entered for the $300,000

In Reality

division for two-year-olds, while Scandalous Act is entered in the $300,000

My Dear

Girl division for two-year-old fillies. Both races will be run at 1 1/16

mile on the main track as the final legs of the Florida Stallion Stakes Series.

Nine horses are entered along with My Brown Eyed Guy for the In Reality. My

Brown Eyed Guy has the most stakes wins to his name among all horses entered. He

went ahead to win his first career stakes race by 3 1/4 lengths over Best Plan

Yet in the first leg of the Florida Stallion Stakes Series, the Dr. Fager

division, which was held at six furlongs at Calder on July 20. He returned one

race later to defeat Best Plan Yet again with a 2 1/4-length victory in the

second leg of the series, the Affirmed division, which was run at seven furlongs

at Calder on August 24.

Best Plan Yet has the chance to take on My Brown Eyed Guy once again, as he

is entered in the In Reality as well. After the Affirmed, Best Plan Yet was able

to earn his first career stakes win in the Foolish Pleasure on Festival Preview

day at Calder on September 14. After bumping with Copa Del Rey and gaining the

lead down the stretch, Best Plan Yet held on to win by a length, while Copa Del

Rey faded to third.

Scandalous Act is among a field of eight for the My Dear Girl. She dominated

the second leg of the Florida Stallion Stakes Series, the seven-furlong Susan's

Girl division, by 8 3/4 lengths at Calder on August 24. One race prior, she

cruised to victory in the series' first leg, the six-furlong Desert Vixen

division, by 7 1/2 lengths at Calder on July 20.

Quinnkat first settled for third against Scandalous Act in the Desert Vixen

before coming up for second in the Susan's Girl. Holiday Magic came up for

second in the Desert Vixen then ran third in the Susan's Girl. In their most

recent start, Holiday Magic defeated Quinnkat by 4 1/4 lengths in the Brave Raj

on Festival Preview day.

Two other stakes races are listed on the Festival of the Sun card, the

$70,000

Tropical Park Derby for three-year-olds, scheduled for 1 1/8 miles on the

turf, and the $70,000

Frances A.

Genter for three-year-old fillies, scheduled for one mile on the turf.
