Private Zone, Songbird work half-miles on different coasts
for BC
Multiple Grade 1 winners Private Zone (Macho Uno) and Songbird (Medaglia
d'Oro) each worked four furlongs on Saturday from East to West Coast in their
final major preparations for
the Breeders' Cup at Keeneland on October 30-31.
Private Zone put in his move at Keeneland, posting a time of :48.60 under
Carlos Marquez Jr. just before the morning renovation break.
Songbird went the same distance at Santa Anita Park in :47.40 with Mike
Smith aboard.
At Belmont Park,
trainer Chad Brown had a number of his Breeders' Cup candidates working,
including multiple Grade 1 turf star Big Blue Kitten.
Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1) winner Tonalist and Filly & Mare Sprint (G1) candidate
Artemis Agrotera also tuned up for next Saturday's action at Keeneland.
