Fully Subscribed was a lukewarm 7-2 favorite to capture her stakes debut Saturday in the $300,000 Mother Goose (G2) for three-year-old fillies at Aqueduct. She won in a manner that suggested the price should have been shorter.
Making a wide, sweeping bid to the lead in upper stretch, Fully Subscribed drew off to a comfortable 4 1/2-length success under Dylan Davis. Drexel Hill, making her first start since finishing second to Good Cheer in the May 2 Kentucky Oaks (G1), rallied for second by a neck over Lemon Zest.
A winner on debut last October, Fully Subscribed was out of action until Sept. 1, when she finished third in a one-mile allowance at Saratoga. She entered the 1 1/8-mile Mother Goose off of a neck defeat in a track-and-distance allowance on Sept. 28.
Owned by Klaravich Stables and trained by Chad Brown, who also captured the $150,000 Pumpkin Pie S. for older fillies and mares with Weigh the Risks on Saturday, Fully Subscribed paid $9 after covering one lap of Aqueduct's fast main track in 1:49.73.
"She's a horse we've always thought a lot of but unfortunately missed most of her three-year-old year with an injury, but she's back doing good and my team has done a great job to bring her back," Brown said.
Fully Subscribed is by Tiz the Law and out of Sweetbaby, a daughter of Candy Ride and Grade 1 winner Rutherienne.
Another impressive three-year-old winner at the Big A was Disco Time, who remained undefeated from five starts with a 9 3/4-length tally in the $186,000 Dwyer S. over one mile. He blitzed a trio of three-year-old rivals in a time of 1:33.86 and paid $4.44 to win as the second choice.
"An amazing horse. The sky is the limit for him," jockey Florent Geroux said.
A homebred racing for Juddmonte and trained by Brad Cox, Disco Time is now a three-time stakes winner. The son of Not This Time landed the Lecomte (G3) at Fair Grounds back in January, and most recently won his comeback attempt in the Sept. 19 St. Louis Derby at Fairmount Park.
In the graded turf action on Saturday's card, Tiz Dashing ($17.46) turned in mild upset of the $200,000 Hill Prince (G3) for three-year-olds over nine furlongs, while Alluring Angel ($17.82) prevailed in the $250,000 Long Island (G3) for fillies and mares at 1 3/8 miles.
