Red Rifle lands Bowling Green; Innovation Economy fatally injured
Red Rifle lands Bowling Green; Innovation Economy fatally
injured
Twin Creeks Racing Stables' Red Rifle (Giant's Causeway) split foes and
surged to a 2 1/2-length victory in Saturday's $250,000
Bowling Green H. (G2) at Saratoga, but the turf test was marred by the fatal
injury suffered by 2-1 favorite Innovation Economy (Dynaformer). The Chad Brown
trainee sadly broke down on the backstretch and had to be euthanized.
Red Rifle earned his first graded win on turf to go along with a Grade 2
score on dirt in the Hawthorne Gold Cup and his last-out Grade 3 victory in the
Dominion Day on Polytrack.
