Riker eyeing Breeders' Cup, earns Derby points, with Grey

victory

Tucci Stable's Riker (Include) earned both a shot at the Breeders' Cup

Juvenile (G1) at Keeneland on October 31 as well as 10 points toward a starting

berth in the Kentucky Derby (G1) next May at Churchill Downs

after wiring Sunday's $114,045 Grey S. (Can-G3) at Woodbine.

The Grey

is part of the Road to the Kentucky Derby series of races offering points to

next spring's Run for the Roses. Riker now finds himself on the Derby

leaderboard, but first up trainer Nick Gonzalez is talking the Breeders' Cup for

his charge.

Earlier at Woodbine on Sunday, Ivan Dalos' homebred

Gamble's Ghost (Ghostzapper) got up after a troubled trip under Luis Contreras

to post a three-quarter length victory in the $136,169 Mazarine S. (Can-G3).

Conditioned by Josie Carroll, the dark bay lass earned 10 points for the

Kentucky Oaks (G1), as the

Mazarine

is part of the Road to the Kentucky Oaks series of races awarding points for

that contest.
