Sander Camillo could aim for French Guineas

Last updated: 5/7/07 8:13 PM

Sir Robert Ogden's SANDER CAMILLO (Dixie Union) could line up in Sunday's

Poule d'Essai des Pouliches (French One Thousand Guineas) (Fr-G1)

at Longchamp, connections revealed Monday.

Forced to miss this past Sunday's One Thousand Guineas (Eng-G1) at Newmarket due to

being in season, last year's Cherry Hinton S. (Eng-G2) winner featured among the

20 fillies left in the French classic on Monday.

"It is a possibility that she could run in the French Guineas," the owner's

Racing Manager Barry Simpson told the Racing Post. "If she doesn't run in

that, she has the option of the Irish One Thousand Guineas ( [Ire-G1] at The

Curragh May 27) before the Coronation S. ([Eng-G1] on June 22) at Royal Ascot."

Trainer Jeremy Noseda also has Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed's Rockfel S. (Eng-G2)

runner-up RAHIYAH (Rahy) in the mile contest, in which His Highness the Aga

Khan's Prix de la Grotte (Fr-G3) scorer DARJINA (Zamindar) and Jean-Pierre

Dubois' impressive course-and-distance conditions scorer PEACE DREAM (Linamix)

are likely to start at the head of the betting.
