Sander Camillo will probably miss Cheveley Park
Sir Robert Ogden's SANDER CAMILLO (Dixie Union) may be
forced to sidestep Friday's Cheveley Park S. (Eng-G1) at Newmarket if the ground turns
soft, connections have warned. Impressive on a fast surface when winning the
Albany S. (Eng-G3) at Royal Ascot June 23 and the Cherry Hinton S. (Eng-G2) at Newmarket
on July
12, the Jeremy Noseda-trained filly may be rerouted to the October 14 Rockfel
S. (Eng-G2), according to the owner's Racing Manager Barry Simpson.
"We're not looking
forward to the prospect of soft ground," he told Racing Post. "If it was good to
soft we might still go, but if it's soft there is always the Rockfel."
