A field of nine three-year-old fillies will travel seven panels in hopes of

bagging the top prize in the $150,000 Santa Ynez S. (G2) at Santa Anita on

Monday. The John Sadler-trained JUMP ON IN (Jump Start) looks like the speed of

the field and is on the improve, so we'll side with the bay. The filly broke her

maiden in impressive fashion first out, and then put in two solid stakes efforts

prior to her allowance stroll most recently. With the advantageous rail draw and

a solid work leading up to this, the Kentucky-bred looks like the one to beat. Corey Nakatani will guide the miss.

COM EASY (Halo's Image) was a pricy two-year-old purchase and lived up

to that billing in her debut with a gutsy debut win over the Cushion Track for

Bob Baffert. The gray miss has trained well in the interim and will be equipped

with blinkers for the initial time, leading us to believe she'll be in the thick

of it from the outset. If the top one falters, look for this sophomore to

challenge for the win beneath Martin Garcia.

QUICK LITTLE MISS (Freud) holds the most credentials coming into this one,

having amassed two stakes wins and a pair of placings in Grade 1 events. The Mel Stute pupil fires her best punch late and will undoubtedly need some help up

front to unleash her best run. The bay has posted three solid works over this

oval and was third in the Oak Leaf Breeders' Cup S. (G1) here, so she has a live

chance at a top-three placing.

SHE'S INCLUDED (Include) has faced the best of her division since breaking

her maiden and is a threat on class alone. The Kentucky-bred was last seen

finishing sixth in the Hollywood Starlet S. (G1) but ran better than her finish

place indicates. The Chris Paasch charge could be a factor late if she shows an

affinity for the Santa Anita oval. Leading rider Garrett Gomez has the riding

assignment.

SEKIRA (Holy Bull) has really turned the corner since a pair of awful starts

to begin her career, and the chestnut filly could hit the board with further

improvement. Conditioned by Dan Hendricks, the sophomore exits back-to-back wins

over surfaces other than the dirt, so we're still a bit apprehensive of her

chances over this surface, but her best could find her with a paycheck. Alex

Solis will pilot the miss.

LEAVE A MESSAGE (Favorite Trick) comes in off two consecutive Cushion Track

wins for Gary Mandella, but must prove she can handle the main surface versus

horses like this. The dark bay will likely be in the second flight behind the

pacesetters, so she could get first run turning for home. The

filly has an exotics shot under Victor Espinoza.

SUMMERTIME (Siberian Summer) was impressive in her debut and has the pedigree

to run with these, but the Jeff Mullins trainee could be up against it at this

point in her career. The California-bred bay should do her best running late,

but will need ample pace help to challenge these late. HERE COMES RAY RAY (Yonaguska)

topped a questionable field last out and has posted low BRIS Speed figures, so we'll

let her beat us.

MARKET DAY (GB) (Tobougg [Ire]) is bred top and bottom for the grass and showed little in her

U.S. debut, thus making her a throwout on our tickets.
