Sasicha leads Goffs February opener

Last updated: 2/10/09 4:31 PM

A daughter of Montjeu (Ire) was the main draw during the opening session of

the Goffs February Sale on Tuesday when selling to Boden Global Bloodstock for

50,000. Consigned by Temple House Stables

as Hip No. 7, the unraced three-year-old Sasicha is a half to triple Group 3

winner Carribean Sunset (Ire) (Danehill Dancer), who placed in last year's Irish

One Thousand Guineas (Ire-G1) and Coronation S. (Eng-G1).

Of the yearlings on offer, it was Taroka Stud's Hip 214 who emerged on top

after Peter Doyle Bloodstock went to 40,000

for the daughter of Oasis Dream (GB). Out of the stakes-winning and Grade

3-placed Dreams Come True (Fr) (Zafonic), she hails from the family of leading

sprinter and sire Titus Livius (Fr) and last year's German One Thousand Guineas

(Ger-G2) winner Briseida (Pivotal).

That price matched the sum paid earlier by Emerald Bloodstock for Tinnakill

House's winning three-year-old filly Dubai's Gazal (GB) (Fraam). Consigned as

Hip 50, Dubai's Gazal is a daughter of the 2001 German One Thousand Guineas

(Ger-G2) heroine Dakhla Oasis (Night Shift), who is also a sister to the sire

Dyhim Diamond (Ire).

Selling continues Wednesday. Full results are available at goffs.com.
