Spanabel wins Female Jockey Challenge at Hoosier Park
Kelly Spanabel won the fifth annual Female Jockey Challenge on Saturday night
at Hoosier Park. Spanabel booted home two winners in the six-race series for the
title.
"This is a great honor to win against my peers in this competition," Spanabel
said.
Spanabel completed the evening with 20 overall points. Janice Blake of New
Jersey finished second with 18 points. Jaleina Farrell was third with 15 points.
A total of 11 female riders competed in the event. In addition to Spanabel,
Blake and Farrell, the other riders were Jane Magrell, Bonnie Castaneda, Brinda
Robbins, Joddie Fortner, Jessica Endres, Christin Landrum, Julie Veltman and
Shelley Moran.
