Strikeline brings top bid at Magic Millions Select finale

Group 3 winner STRIKELINE (Desert Sun [GB]), sold by Eliza Park as agent

to dissolve a partnership, brought a bid of A$470,000 to top Thursday's final

select broodmare session of the Magic Millions National Sale on the Gold Coast.

Steve Brem signed the ticket for the five-year-old racing/broodmare prospect on

behalf of Ultra Thoroughbreds.

It was another successful day of trading for

Magic Millions, with the current sale average of A$92,502 up 38 percent from

last year's A$66,954.

"This sale continues to grow at amazing levels each year

and it is now regarded as the best in the Southern Hemisphere," David Chester,

Magic Millions' managing director, said. "We're very proud of the results of the

National Sale to date--particularly the broodmare sale over the past few days.

Quality mares were in amazing demand. I'm sure many of the breeders wished they

had cataloged more of their quality stock that they were contemplating selling.

While many of the mares sold for lofty amounts, there were plenty of great value

buys."

The non-select portion of the sale continues on Friday.
