Sunny Ridge, Songbird star in Saturday stakes

Sunny Ridge headlines a field of eight entered in Saturday's $400,000 Gotham

(G3) at Aqueduct. The Holy Bull gelding, who might bypass the Kentucky Derby

(G1) in favor of the latter two classics and a summertime tilt at the Haskell

Invitational (G1), will be opposed by undefeated allowance winner Shagaf and the

Todd Pletcher-trained Rally Cry, among others.

Songbird makes her second start of the year when facing nine rivals in the

$100,000 Santa Ysabel (G3) at Santa Anita Park on Saturday. Many of her the

unbeaten champion's rivals in the 1 1/16-mile contest have already suffered

defeat at the hands of the filly, who is seeking a perfect six-for-six in the

race.

Meanwhile,

Pletcher will have four of the seven entrants in the $500,000 Gulfstream Park H.

(G2) on Saturday. The one-mile event headlines a card that also includes the

$200,000 Mac Diarmida (G2) and $150,000 The Very One (G3) on the turf.
