Four-time Grade 2 winner T. H. APPROVAL (With Approval) has been retired due

to a sesamoid injury. Winner of the Del Mar H. (G2), San Juan Capistrano

Invitational H. (G2) and Sunset Breeders' Cup H. (G2) this season, the

five-year-old horse suffered the injury when finishing seventh as the favorite

in Saturday's Hollywood Turf Cup (G1) and was vanned off the track afterward.

"The X-rays were no good," trainer Eduardo Inda said. "He has a fractured

sesamoid on his right front. His racing career is finished."

Winner of the last two runnings of the San Juan Capistrano, T. H. Approval

finished second in this year's Clement L. Hirsch Memorial Turf Championship S.

(G1) and placed in five other stakes during his career. Owned and bred by

Tadahiro Hotehama of Japan, the Kentucky-bred earned $853,708 from a 28-7-6-4

line over three seasons of racing.

"It was a great run," Inda commented. "I'm going to miss him."

Stud plans have not been determined. Inda said the injury was not

life-threatening and would not require surgery.
