Last updated: 4/9/13 5:58 PM

"Dawn at the Downs," the popular Louisville tradition that gives visitors an

opportunity to enjoy breakfast in Millionaires Row while watching Kentucky Derby

and Kentucky Oaks contenders during morning workouts, returns to Churchill Downs

on Tuesday, April 30 through Thursday, May 2.

Award-winning horse racing columnist Gary West will describe the on-track

activity by the Oaks and Derby contenders from Millionaires Row 4 and discuss

the contenders' past performances and provide invaluable insight to the Kentucky

Derby and Kentucky Oaks races. Morning workouts also will be shown on television

monitors and the commentary will be heard throughout the facility.

Reserved seats in Millionaires Row 4 & 6 and the Matt Winn Dining Room, which

include breakfast, are $35 for adults and $22 for children age 4-12 (children

age 3 and under are admitted free). The dining spaces afford the best views at

the track with a four-tier balcony that overlooks the legendary Churchill Downs

homestretch and finish line.

The Dawn at the Downs breakfast buffet will be served from 7-8:45 a.m. (EDT)

and will include scrambled eggs; hickory smoked bacon; breakfast sausage;

Kentucky country ham and grits; skillet breakfast potato casserole; buttermilk

biscuits and gravy; seasonal fruit; assorted breakfast breads; and coffee, tea,

juice and milk.

Reserved tickets are available by visiting Churchill Downs' official online

box office at

www.KentuckyDerby.com/Tickets or by calling (502) 636-4400.

Those looking for a more casual Dawn at the Downs experience are invited to

view the morning workouts from the Trackside Rail and Sections 116-117 free of

charge. Breakfast items will be available for purchase at the Paddock Grill.

Parking lots for Dawn at the Downs will open at 6:30 a.m. with Gates 10 and

conducted between 6-10 a.m. with an 8 a.m. renovation break, but there is an
