Battle of Midway and Runaway Ghost tied as having earned the top BRIS Speed rating for the past week's stakes.
Battle of Midway prevailed by a half-length in the San Pasqual Stakes (G2) at Santa Anita Park to garner a 107 BRIS Speed figure while Runaway Ghost earned the same number for his 2 1/2-length decision in the Ft. Bliss Stakes at Sunland Park.
The other triple-digit BRIS Speed rating of 102 belongs to Tax, who earned 10 points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby with a head score in the Withers Stakes (G3) at Aqueduct.
There were two other Derby points contests last week. Harvey Wallbanger and Mucho Gusto were each awarded a 95 BRIS Speed number for their respective victories in the Holy Bull Stakes (G2) and Robert B. Lewis Stakes (G3).
