Trainer Gibson 'excited' about Doctor Dino in Grand Prix de

Saint-Cloud

Javier Martinez Salmean's DOCTOR DINO (Fr) (Muhtathir [GB]) on Wednesday

featured among the 12 remaining in Sunday's Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud (Fr-G1).

Last year's Man o' War S. (G1) and G1 Hong Kong Vase (HK-G1) winner, who took

the Grand Prix de Chantilly (Fr-G2) on home soil last out on June 1, was the

subject of an upbeat bulletin from trainer Richard Gibson.

"We're excited because we feel he has improved," he said of the six-year-old.

"We thought he looked a bit heavy and a bit rusty in Chantilly and in training

he has gone forward since then. His racing is better over a mile and a half than

a mile and a quarter and we're excited about the challenges that lie ahead this

year.

"We've certainly got the same category of horse we had last year. He's a

horse who likes fast ground, so we can't make many plans in Europe after the

summer. I think the track conditions will suit our horse, as it's going to be

nice, hot weather and fast ground."

Re-opposing in the 1 1/2-mile contest will be the respective Grand Prix de

Chantilly second and third, ZAMBEZI SUN (Dansili [GB]) and NOT JUST SWING

(King's Best), with the latter one of a trio from the Andre Fabre stable headed

by Baron Georg von Ullmann's GETAWAY (Monsun).

Aidan O'Brien is set to run Susan Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith's

Coronation Cup (Eng-G1) hero SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (Galileo [Ire]) and reliable

rabbit SONG OF HIAWATHA (Sadler's Wells), while Mick Channon may saddle Jaber

Abdullah's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Fr-G1) runner-up YOUMZAIN (Sinndar), who

was also second in the Coronation last out.

"Youmzain has come out of the Coronation Cup in great nick and is ready to

go," Channon told Racing Post.
