Recently retired Triple Crown hero JUSTIFY completed his cross-country trek on Wednesday from California, arriving in Kentucky via plane before boarding a van for the trip to his new home in Versailles with co-owner WinStar Farm.
"This is a horse of a lifetime," David Hanley, general manager of WinStar Farm, said upon Justify's arrival. "One of the best three-year olds I think I'm ever going to see."
Justify became just the 13th horse to sweep the famed Triple Crown comprised of the Kentucky Derby (G1), Preakness Stakes (G1) and Belmont Stakes (G1) when taking the latter event on June 9. The chestnut son of Scat Daddy also broke the "Apollo Curse" by becoming the first unraced juvenile since Apollo (1882) to win the Kentucky Derby.
Justify heads to the breeding shed with an unbeaten six-for-six mark, having accumulated $3,798,000 in career earnings.
