Wise Dan, Will Take Charge work

Wise Dan is less than three weeks away from his season opener

Two-time Horse of the Year Wise Dan and 2013 champion three-year-old colt

Will Take Charge worked at Keeneland and Oaklawn Park, respectively, on Tuesday.

Wise Dan, preparing for his first start since repeating in the Breeders' Cup

Mile at Santa Anita in November, worked six furlongs in 1:13 1/5 over the

Polytrack at Keeneland.

Trained by Charlie LoPresti, the champion older male and champion turf male

of 2012-13 is expected to make his season debut in the $300,000 Maker's 46 Mile

at Keeneland on April 12, a one-mile grass event he won last season.

Will Take Charge, who's run second in the Donn Handicap and Santa Anita

Handicap this term, completed five furlongs in 1:01 2/5 over a fast track at

Oaklawn.

The D. Wayne Lukas trainee is scheduled to appear next in the $500,000

Oaklawn Handicap, a 1 1/8-mile test on April 12, closing day of the 2014 Oaklawn

meet.
