Grade 3 victor WITH DISTINCTION (Storm Cat) sent out his first U.S.

winner when Orakpo captured Monday's 5TH race at Colonial Downs. The Timothy

Salzman trainee tracked in third beneath Geovany Garcia, went four wide turning

for home, and rallied to a 1 1/4-length victory. The 9-5 second choice in his

second career start, Orakpo completed five furlongs in :59 1/5 on the fast main

track.

With Distinction's first winner overall, The Henry's Cat,

had struck in Mexico.

Trained throughout his career by D. Wayne Lukas, With

Distinction reached top form as a five-year-old, capturing the 5 1/2-furlong El Conejo H. (G3) in a sparkling 1:02 2/5 and finishing second in the 1 1/8-mile

San Antonio H. (G2). His resume also features runner-up efforts in that season's

Churchill Downs H. (G2) and Bet on Sunshine H., as well as placings in the

Maryland H. (G3), Distorted Humor H. and Marfa S. as a four-year-old. The dark

bay retired with $447,717 in earnings from a record of 29-6-9-2.

Out of the unraced Alydar mare Extravagant Woman, With Distinction is a half-brother to

Brooklyn H. (G2) winner Living Vicariously (Time for a Change) and the multiple

Grade 1-placed Resort (Pleasant Colony), the dam of Grade 2 winner Sightseeing

(Pulpit). With Distinction's second dam

is Grade 1 heroine and influential producer Squander (Buckpasser), whose

descendants include multiple Grade 1 stars Goodbye Halo (Halo) and Val's Prince

(Eternal Prince).

The nine-year-old stands for $7,500, live

foal, at Hartley/DeRenzo Thoroughbreds near Ocala, Florida.
