Three Valleys all the class in Oceanport Juddmonte Farms' homebred THREE VALLEYS (Diesis [GB]) made a bold move on the far turn and powered home a measured neck winner of the $150,000 Oceanport S. (G3) at Monmouth Park on Sunday. Rating in midpack early beneath Ramon Dominguez, the classy five-year-old made an impressive wide move as the field approached the stretch and outkicked Hotstufanthensome (Awesome Again) to the wire, finishing off 1 1/16 miles on the firm turf in a sharp 1:40. Sent off as the lukewarm 2-1 favorite, the Bobby Frankel trainee rewarded his backers with mutuels of $6.60, $3.80 and $2.80. Hotstufanthensome took the lead at the top of the lane and was a very game second in here as the 7-2 third choice. The runner-up paid $4.20 and $2.80 while completing the $24.40 exacta. Rebel Rebel (Ire) (Revoque) closed belatedly from the back to garner the show another three lengths back at 5-2, worth $3. The winning $1 trifecta (4-6-12) was worth $37.40. Icy Atlantic (Stormy Atlantic) was next and was trailed by Bestowed (Repeal), Juniper Knight (A.P. Indy), Miracle Man (Yankee Victor), Gigawatt (Wild Again), Western Revenge (Gone West) and Dynareign (Dyanformer), while Touched by Madness (Sword Dance [Ire]) and Pulpit Talk (Red Ransom) were withdrawn. Three Valleys returned from a 10-month layoff to resume his winning ways here, upping his mark to 12-5-2-2 with earnings of $617,338. The chestnut was victorious in the 2005 Del Mar Breeders' Cup H. (G2) and 2003 Coventry S. (Eng-G3), with placings in the Citation H. (G1), Dewhurst S. (Eng-G1), Phoenix S. (Ire-G1) and Craven S. (Eng-G3). The winner was bred in the Bluegrass State and produced from the stakes-placed Skiable (Ire) (Niniski). Three Valleys has a pair of unnamed full siblings, a yearling colt as well as a 2006 filly.
