Wait A While leaves no doubt Arindel Farm's WAIT A WHILE (Maria's Mon) moved to the fore turning for home and spurted clear to a dominating 4 1/2-length win in the prestigious $400,000 Yellow Ribbon S. (G1) over the firm Santa Anita turf course on Saturday. Breaking from the widest post under regular rider Garrett Gomez, the three-year-old turf sensation was always prominent while tracking pacesetter Dancing Edie (Moscow Ballet) through the early going, and put that one away in just a few jumps while displaying a devastating turn on foot once they straightened for home. The Todd Pletcher charge completed the 1 1/4 miles in a solid 1:59 3/5 under light urging, and gave back $3.40, $2.80 and $2.40 as the 3-5 choice. Dancing Edie did quite well to maintain the place spot, paying $7.40 and $3.80 while completing the $28.80 exacta at 14-1. Three Degrees (Ire) (Singspiel [Ire]) closed from off the pace to earn the show spot, paying $2.60 at 7-2, while concluding the $83.40 trifecta. The winning 9-8-1-5 superfecta was good for $1,127.60, when the 95-1 Sohgol (Ire) (Singspiel [Ire]) closed for fourth. Bond Deal (Ire) (Pivotal) was next and trailed by Singalong (GB) (Singspiel [Ire]), Moscow Burning (Moscow Ballet) and Live Life (Fr) (Linamix), while Amorama (Fr) (Sri Pekan) was scratched. Wait A While remained unbeaten, and virtually untested, from four turf starts in running her overall mark to 12-7-1-3. The lass eclipsed the $1 million ($1,218,087)in earnings with the $240,000 winners share, and solidified her status as the leading three-year-old turf filly in the nation. The gray earlier scored in the American Oaks Invitational S. (G1), Lake Placid H. (G2), Davona Dale S. (G2), Sands Point S. (G3) and Miss Grillo S., and owns placings in the Kentucky Oaks (G1), Ashland S. (G1), Demoiselle S. (G2) and Bonnie Miss S. (G2). Bred in Kentucky by William S. Farish and W. Temple Webber Jr., the winner attracted a price of $260,000 at the 2005 OBS February Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale. She is the first registered foal out of the winning A.P. Indy mare Flirtatious, and counts an unnamed two-year-old filly by Tiznow and a 2006 colt by Pleasantly Perfect as half-siblings.
