Cash Included much the best in Oak Leaf

J. Paul Reddam's recent purchase of CASH INCLUDED (Include) returned instant dividends when the two-year-old filly pulled away to a convincing 4 3/4-length tally in the $247,000 Oak Leaf S. (G1) at Santa Anita on Saturday. The dark bay filly, trained by Craig Dollase and piloted by Corey Nakatani, broke well from her outside post and disputed the early pace of Shes Got Skills (Siphon [Brz]), who reached the half-mile in :47. As the field approached the turn for home, Cash Included took the lead and turned away a threat from 1-2 favorite Point Ashley (Point Given), pulling away late in impressive fashion. The final time for 1 1/16 miles was 1:42 4/5, and the winner paid $29.40, $7 and $5.80 at 13-1.

Point Ashley was prominent early, ranged up three wide to contest the lead and had the length of the stretch to get by, but couldn't match the winner late. The Grade 1 heroine paid $2.60 and $2.60 and completed the $33.60 exacta ($1). Quick Little Miss (Freud) closed from well back to gain the show, good for $7.40. The 31-1 shot concluded the $362.20 trifecta ($1). Spenditallbaby (Unusual Heat) sat on the bottom of the $9,368.70, 10-11-9-4 superfecta ($1) at nearly 40-1.

Adoradora (Mr. Greeley) was next and trailed by Back in the Shade (Put it Back), Outofthepast (Exchange Rate), Tonja's World (Free House), Ces't Mark (Benchmark), Shes Got Skills and Pinata (Vision and Verse).

Cash Included was purchased privately by her current connections following a solid maiden win earlier in the month, and the filly moved her mark to 3-2-0-0 with earnings of $184,980. She was bred in Kentucky by Brereton Jones and is the first starter produced from the unraced Henderson Band (Chimes Band). The winner has an unnamed yearling full-sister, as well as an unnamed 2006 half-sister by Harlan's Holiday.
