Martin Schwartz's ASI SIEMPRE (El Prado [Ire]) moved to the fore turning for home and powered clear in the stretch to take the $500,000 Spinster S. (G1) over Keeneland's Polytrack on Sunday. Settling in midpack while four wide through the early going under Julien Leparoux, the gray four-year-old responded well when asked, traveling six wide in the lane to finish 2 1/4 lengths clear at the wire. The final time for the nine furlongs was 1:51 4/5, and the Patrick Biancone charge rewarded her backers with mutuels of $11, $5.80 and $4.60 at 9-2.

Soul Search (A.P. Indy) closed from well off the pace to garner the place spot by a neck at 18-1, paying $17.80 and $7.80 while completing the $210.40 exacta. Promenade Girl (Carson City) traveled wide throughout and fought back well after being outmoved in the stretch, good enough for the show spot. The nearly 19-1 shot was worth $6 and finished off the $2,714 trifecta. Sharp Lisa (Dixieland Band) missed the show spot by a neck, but concluded the healthy $16,675 superfecta (6-8-3-7) at 12-1. Lemons Forever (Lemon Drop Kid) was another head back and followed by 8-5 favorite Happy Ticket (Anet), who was completely shut off at the top of the stretch which cost her all chance, pacesetter Summerly (Summer Squall), 5-2 second choice Spun Sugar (Awesome Again) and Island Escape (Petionville).

A winner in the De La Rose S. two prior, Asi Siempre made her first start on something other than the lawn a successful one in earning her second graded stakes tally, following a win in the 2005 Valley View S. (G3). The filly now sports a lifetime mark of 16-6-3-3 with earnings of $660,408, and owns placings in the Garden City Breeders' Cup S. (G1), Jenny Wiley S. (G2), Ballston Spa H. (G2) and the Prix de Royaumont (Fr-G3).

Bred in Kentucky by Almagro de Actividades Commerciales Sa, the winner was produced from the unraced Silver Hawk mare Siempre Asi and has an unnamed yearling half-brother by Langfuhr.
