No Sleep scores in the Violet Glencrest Farm LLC's NO SLEEP (Robyn Dancer) was listed as a main-track only entrant in Friday evening's $150,000 Violet S. and showed why when taking the off-the-turf event from gate-to-wire by 2 1/2 lengths. With Mike Luzzi aboard, the Bruce Levine trainee quickly moved to the front from her far outside 5 post position, led through splits of :23 2/5, :47 1/5, 1:11 2/5 and 1:36 and finished the 8 1/2-furlong good dirt test in 1:42 2/5. The Violet was downgraded from Grade 3 status, pending review by the North American Graded Stakes Committee, after it was taken off the turf. While the switch in surface caused half the field to scratch, it proved to be just what No Sleep needed to earn her third straight stakes win in her first start for Levine. The gray four-year-old miss was an easy 7 1/2-length victress of the Fort Monmouth S. prior to taking the Iowa Distaff Breeders' Cup S. last out, and moved her record to 24-9-5-6 with $377,661 in lifetime earnings. Earlier this year, she also ran third in the Next Move H. (G3) on Aqueduct's inner dirt. Sent off the even-money favorite against her four rivals, No Sleep returned $4 and $2.60, with no show wagering, and started the $15 exacta. Prop Me Up (Reparations) was the 4-1 fourth choice and gave back $3.40, while Phyllis Sassy Girl (Concerto) ended the $19.70 trifecta ($1). Brunilda (Arg) (Mutakddim) followed by another three parts of a length while Smart N Classy (Smart Strike) finished out the field well back. Miss Mambo (Kingmambo), Humoristic (Sefapiano), Art Fan (Lear Fan), Royal Wave (Royal Academy) and More Than Promised (More Than Ready) were all scratched. No Sleep, bred in Florida by Joel Sainer, is out of the winning Allie's Toy (Fortunate Prospect) and counts stakes winners Hummel (Jeblar), Misguided Left (Double Honor) and Hollywood Left (Wheaton) as half-siblings.
