Nobiz is all biz in Holy Bull Elizabeth J. Valando's leading Kentucky Derby (G1) candidate NOBIZ LIKE SHOBIZ (Albert the Great) kicked off his 2007 campaign with a professional 1 1/2-length victory in the $150,000 Holy Bull S. (G3) at Gulfstream Park on Saturday. The smooth-striding colt was prominent from the outset from his outermost post, dispatched 9-5 second choice Scat Daddy (Johannesburg) turning for home, and finished with good energy to complete the one-mile, fast-track event in sharp1:35 2/5 under Cornelio Velasquez. The Barclay Tagg pupil was sent off as the prohibitive 3-5 choice and rewarded backers with mutuels of $3.40, $3 and $2.10. "He won easily today moving on the lead," Velasquez said. "Every time they came to him, he pulled away. At the three-eighths pole, I just let him run on." Drums of Thunder (Concerto) came outside into the stretch and did very well to earn the place spot at 27-1, 1 1/4 lengths clear of third. The runner-up gave back $9.40 and $2.40 while completing the $23.20 exacta ($1). Scat Daddy did well to retain the show spot in his 2007 bow, giving back $2.10 and concluding the $42 trifecta ($1). Sam P. (Cat Thief) was another 8 1/2 lengths in arrears and sat on the bottom of the $108.30 superfecta (8-5-2-3) ($1) at 11-1. Pop Goes the Tiger (Tiger Ridge) was next and followed by Bold Start (Jump Start), One of the Best (West Acre) and Dukes Flying Tiger (Tiger Ridge). Nobiz Like Shobiz continues to impress in moving his career mark to 4-3-1-0, $316,400. The Kentucky homebred captured the Remsen S. (G2) in his 2006 finale, which followed a runner-up performance in the Champagne S. (G1). The victor is the fourth registered foal out of the winning Nightstorm (Storm Cat), and has an unnamed two-year-old half-sister by Changeintheweather, as well as an unnamed yearling half-brother by Broken Vow. "It was exactly what I wanted," Tagg said following the performance of his star sophomore. "I wanted to get a good race in him without undue stress to win the race. We'll see how he comes out of this race. Maybe the (March 3) Fountain of Youth (G2) will be next."
